This is so poignant to me right now as my first child has just cut her first two teeth, a fantastic read, thankyou ❤️❤️❤️

Wow so enjoyed reading this! Agreed the tree ring comparison is fascinating- and also crazy that our decay levels are so high. Maybe the paleo diet is where it’s at.

So good. Thank you for going into the depths on this. My kids were Waldorf kids so I have been in tune with this from a pedagogical standpoint and from the magical pull of the young child. Love the depth here. Very confirming of the felt sense and the intellectual.

I really enjoyed this.

The modern tooth decay is extremely high, which shows two things: our diets are not correct, and the knowledge they had of plant medicine and self care far exceeds what we know of our ancient peoples. All their teeth are intact- telling a story of long ago.

Teeth and pebbles 🤔🤔

It’s a pleasure to read your writing: it’s perfectly paced and calmly expressive.

"Alfheim the Gods gave to Freyr, in ancient day's as a tooth gift" ( Grimnismal, Poetic Edda)

Very incitful article.

Amazingly written. The sections about teeth and kids reminded me of how it seems like kids hold the pain of teeth growing better. When my wisdom tooth was coming in it felt unbearable.

my goodness, incredible writing! i felt this so deeply, as my eldest approaches his changing of the teeth, and as animists I want to honor this rite of passage at the deepest level. i was wondering when you were going to mention Steiner; at my kiddos waldorf school they discuss dentition a lot and shape the pedagogy around it as you say. much food for thought here, thank you!

Brilliant writing! Missed your essays! Hopefully not too long apart from the next one! This was just so succinctly expressed these ideas.

And how funny the teeth enamel has growth rings not unlike trees and what do teeth all have in common with trees, but root systems

Exactly. Thanks for reading!!
